Miss Baker Goes The Extra Mile for Cancer Research

At Ark Rose Primary Academy, our staff go the extra mile to help all pupils reach their full potential. On Sunday, Miss Baker went one better by running 5K (3.1 miles) at the Dudley Race for Life fun run, raising over £100 for charity in the process.

Miss Baker ran the race with her Mum. Together, they raised over £100 to support Cancer Research. Miss Baker said:

“I took part in Race for Life to support my Mum, who has recently taken up running, and to raise money for Cancer Research. I never got to know my Nan as she passed away before I was born and raising money for charity was a way of honouring her memory.”

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer. This year, over 300 events will take place throughout the country, ranging from the 5K race Miss Baker took part in all the way up to the brand-new for 2015 women-only Marathon.

We are very proud of Miss Baker (and her Mum!).
